Propective Parliamentry Candidate

Why Stourbridge UK Independence Party chose Maddy Westrop as their Prospective Parliamentary Candidate
A new kind of MP
Maddy doesn't approve of high salaries and lavish expenses for MPs. She is definitely not a career politician. We chose her because UKIP thinks MPs should be people who have had real jobs away from politics. Maddy wants to do this to serve her constituents out of duty not ambition. "Soldiers and paramedics carry life and death responsibility and earn only a pittance compared with MPs. MPs should give up part of their high salaries for the honour of serving their country".
Maddy lives in Birmingham. She is 48 years old and has worked in private industry and then in computer security in the public sector, where she has been horrified by the scale of waste. She read History at Cambridge and is happily married with two children.
Maddy's Message.
Look to the Future: Real jobs in
manufacturing creates wealth for everyone.
"We need jobs. Stourbridge needs engineering and manufacturing jobs once again. We have to start making things again and trading freely with the rest of the world.
Our position is dire. The public debt is going to cripple us. Government spends over half our national income and is racking up huge new debts, on top of this - 600 billion more over the next three years! So irresponsible! There will be a point where they cannot pay their bills and they cause Zimbabwe-style inflation.
But if we can make things again, we do have a chance of a prosperous future with real jobs. To do this we need to cut out National Insurance which is a tax on jobs, de-regulate business, pay back the public deficit and cut spending. We can get back over £40 million a day by withdrawing from the EU. We can cut out spin and red tape, ditch the quangos and regional assemblies, forget targets, carbon credits and all the other rubbish."
We do have to spend more on some things. We must treat our soldiers better and equip them properly. We must also put bobbies on the beat and matron on the warpath against dirt in hospitals. We must educate children for a manufacturing future with proper skills and not send everyone to take degrees they don't need. And we must allow universities and selective schools to pick the brightest and the best again so that everyone has a chance to get on in life."
A chance for change
UK Independence Party is the only party planning for the future. The crisis in finance and Government has created the biggest opportunity for change in a generation. All the major parties are ducking out of that challenge. Only the UK Independence Party offers the scale of change that will revive Britain's hopes for the future. Make our choice your choice when you vote - the UK Independence Party is the only Real Opposition.
Message from the Stourbridge Branch: UKIP can make history!
The UK Independence Party so far has no members in the Commons. You might think that the UK Independence Party is not yet big enough and your vote will not count. But our progress may surprise you:

Talk to friends, colleagues, neighbours and people in pubs. Discuss what you want to see from government. When you find that your ideals match those of UKIP, don't say, ' I would vote for them but they don't stand a chance,' study what happened above in 2009; UKIP did stand a chance and because of you, the voters, they came first in Dudley, Stoke & Newcastle!
If you do not usually vote, then now you have a extraordinary chance to make a real change.
